WOMEN'S

SELF-DEFENCE

Wednesdays 6pm – 7.30pm

St Agnes Dojo, 144 Smart Road,

St Agnes, SA

Be fearless.

It’s important for women to feel confident and prepared in any situation. Unfortunately, we live in a world where violence against women still exists, making it crucial for every woman to learn how to protect themselves. Whilst there are many self-defence programs available it’s also important that your martial arts training provides you with:

  • A safe and supportive environment
  • Individually tailored training to suit your particular needs
  • Practical skills that you can trust will be effective in a violent situation

For this reason, we’ve developed an all-women’s weekly self-defence program that focuses on the particular needs of women. During the first few weeks of your training you will be introduced to core techniques and skills that are practical and can be applied immediately in most situations.

If you choose to continue training with us you will also go on to learn advanced aikido, jujitsu and weapons training. Aikido and jujitsu focus on using an attacker’s energy against them, while weapons training provides an added layer of protection. With these techniques, women can feel more confident and empowered in their ability to defend themselves.

Take control.

Learning self-defence is not just about protecting yourself physically; it’s also about improving your mental and emotional well-being. It can boost your self-esteem, reduce stress and anxiety, and improve your overall quality of life. By taking control of your safety, you’re taking control of your life.

Attending these classes not only equips you with self-defence techniques but also provides a sense of community and support. You’ll be learning alongside other women who share the same goal of personal empowerment and protection. This shared experience can be invaluable in building confidence and developing a sense of belonging.

Our women’s self-defence classes are for biological women only and are taught by experienced and certified instructors who prioritize safety and respect in their teachings. You can feel comfortable and secure in knowing that you’re learning from knowledgeable professionals who have your best interest in mind.

be supported by women who share the same goal of empowerment.

Be supported.

During your training you’ll have a female instructor taking you through each section. We pride ourselves in creating an open and friendly culture where everyone is open to ask questions and learn in a supportive environment. All classes are with other women (unless you decide you want to participate in mixed classes). We are there to help and support you through your journey and recognise that everyone is at a different stage of fitness and capability.
